There are several possibilities for shadows on the kidneys

Shadows on the kidneys can be seen in the following conditions: hydronephrosis, kidney stones, kidney cysts, kidney abscesses, kidney tumors, etc. Among them, if it is caused by hydronephrosis, there are mostly ureteral or renal stones, which can be clearly diagnosed by urological ultrasound. If it is caused by cyst or abscess, it mostly has a history of recurrent urinary tract infections, such as recurrent urinary frequency, urinary urgency, urinary pain and systemic symptoms such as chills and fever. In case of large cysts, the diameter is greater than 5cm, kidney cyst puncture and drainage can be performed. If it is a small cyst, it can be observed regularly. If it is caused by renal occupancy, the diagnosis can be clarified by enhanced CT of the urinary tract to distinguish benign from malignant and further determine the next treatment plan. If benign, surgical removal is recommended; if malignant, systemic metastasis has occurred, conservative treatment is recommended.
