In mild cases, there may be no obvious clinical symptoms, while in severe cases, the tongue may show signs of dentition, snoring during sleep, breathing difficulties, dysphagia, slurred speech, persistent salivation, ulcers at the corners of the mouth, receding jaw, and dryness, ulceration, infection and even necrosis of the tongue.
