If carcinoembryonic antigen is elevated in lung cancer follow-up test, generally speaking, the cause should be found firstly, and then according to different causes of disease, regular follow-up test for dynamic observation, surgery and medication should be given after perfecting the examination.
1. If the elevation of carcinoembryonic antigen is not obvious, it is generally considered that it has nothing to do with lung cancer, but is caused by other factors such as smoking, gastritis, etc. Generally speaking, one can quit smoking, take medication to treat gastritis, etc., and repeat the examination of carcinoembryonic antigen in every 2~3 months for dynamic observation of changes in the indexes.
2. If carcinoembryonic antigen is obviously elevated, it is generally considered that lung cancer has progressed, and it is recommended to do whole abdomen enhanced CT, brain MRI and other examinations to clarify the recurrence or metastatic site, and then take surgery to remove the tumor, chemotherapy and targeted drug treatment to control the development of lung cancer.
