Trigeminal neuralgia treatment series of Chinese medicine treatment

In Chinese medicine, trigeminal neuralgia is called “facial pain” and “brow bone pain”. It is also called “wind headache” and “thunder head wind” because of its rapid onset and severe pain, which is like wind and thunder. The attacks are mostly unilateral, so it is also called “migraine”. Through comprehensive analysis of the location, nature, triggering causes, systemic symptoms and tongue and pulse, TCM believes that the occurrence of triple neuralgia is related to external evil attacking the human body. If wind-cold attacks Yangming tendons and veins, because cold is a yin evil, its nature is to stagnate and attract, it easily injures Yang Qi, causing paralysis of Qi and blood, resulting in facial pain; if injured by wind-heat, because wind and heat are both yang evils, wind and fire burn Yangming and Shaoyang meridians, resulting in fullness of Qi and veins, resulting in facial pain. In addition, the onset of the disease for a long time, phlegm with the pneumatic, phlegm blocking blood stagnation, then the pain time is increasingly prolonged, the relief period is increasingly shortened, resulting in the aggravation of the disease, and lingering difficult to cure. Clinically, trigeminal neuralgia is roughly divided into three types, namely wind-cold type, wind-heat type and blocked blood type. (1) Types and treatment 1. Wind-cold type Main symptoms: Pain in the cheek, pain like lightning, pain as usual afterwards. The pain occurs when the face is brushed by cold wind, and the pain is reduced by heat. The pain may be accompanied by tightening of facial muscles or twitching of facial muscles, and there are obvious sensitive points on the face. The tongue is pale or light red, with thin white tongue coating and a floating, tight or thin pulse. Treatment: Dispel wind and dispel cold, invigorate blood circulation, move Qi and relieve pain. 2. Wind-heat type Main symptoms: Facial pain, sudden onset, sudden stop, severe pain like cracking: pain can be triggered by talking, eating and other movements: bad wind, fever, facial burning and even redness, red eyes, photophobia and tearing, thirst, dry throat and sore throat, dry stool or constipation, yellow urine. Red tongue, thin yellow tongue coating, string or slippery pulse: treatment: dispel wind and clear heat, relieve pain. 3. Stagnant blood blocking type Main symptoms: pain in the cheeks, paroxysmal attacks, pain like cone stabbing, knife cutting, with a sense of distension, so when the pain frowns and vomits the mouth, every time rubbing the painful side with the hand. The course of the disease is protracted, the pain becomes more and more severe, the attacks are frequent, prolonged for a long time, and the treatment does not cure. The skin of the affected side of the cheek is dull and rough, with sensitive points, which are painful when touched. The tongue is purple and dark or has purple spots and bruises, and the pulse is thin and astringent or stringent. Treatment: Invigorate blood circulation to resolve siltation and activate the meridians. Chinese medicine treatment for trigeminal neuralgia is prescribed on the basis of Chinese medicine identification. (B) Commonly used proprietary Chinese medicines 1.
