How long does it take to recover from vaginal dryness after childbirth?

How long it takes for vaginal dryness to return after childbirth is closely related to whether or not you are breastfeeding after giving birth. If you are breastfeeding after childbirth, vaginal dryness usually returns to normal after weaning or menstruation, mostly for more than six months. For women who are not breastfeeding after delivery, vaginal dryness will return around 6-8 weeks after delivery. During breastfeeding, lactogen inhibits ovulation and endocrine function of the ovaries, and the ovaries do not produce sufficient amount of estrogen and progesterone, so vaginal dryness may occur. On the other hand, after normal menstruation, most of the ovaries have recovered their function, and the ovaries secrete sufficient amount of estrogen and progesterone to relieve the symptoms of vaginal dryness. Therefore, vaginal dryness can be restored after stopping breastfeeding or after menstruation. For women who are not breastfeeding, postpartum vaginal dryness will recover sooner than for women who are breastfeeding because there is no lactogenic suppression of the ovaries. If you have vaginal dryness after childbirth, you can do more anal lifting exercises and eat more lean meat and milk with high protein to promote recovery.
