Tonsil adenoid surgery in children is one of the most common surgeries in our department. Our department uses plasma adenoid tonsillectomy, which is one of the most popular surgical procedures in the world, with the advantages of short operation time, less intraoperative bleeding, mild postoperative pain and fast recovery. After the operation, you need to fast for 6 hours and wait for general anesthesia to wake up, then drink water, then milk, then porridge, and gradually transition. Starting from the first day after surgery, children should talk more, rinse their mouths more, and eat small amounts of meals. Adenoids are usually discharged on the second day after surgery, and tonsils are usually discharged on the fourth day after surgery. A semi-liquid diet is required for two weeks after discharge, with outpatient follow-up after two weeks. The normal diet can only be eaten after the surgical wound has fully recovered. Postoperative bleeding is the most dangerous complication after adenoid tonsil surgery. If you find more blood spitting out of the child’s mouth after surgery, you must contact the doctor in charge in time. If the child has already been discharged from the hospital, he or she must go to the hospital promptly for treatment. Some children need another surgery to stop the bleeding or even blood transfusion.
