What is the shape and color of stools in formula-fed babies

Normal stools of formula-fed babies are paste-like, yellowish or grayish-yellow in color, and are relieved once or twice a day, but there are individual variations.
Stools are very important in assessing the function of the gastrointestinal tract of babies, usually referring to the character of stools and the frequency of stools. Normal stools contain more water, which can account for up to 80% of the stools, while the rest are mainly food residues, and the character and frequency of stools are related to the feeding method of babies, although there are also individual differences.
For milk powder (i.e. formula milk) fed babies, stool color is usually grayish yellow or light yellow, stool is dry and thick, neutral or alkaline, pH 6~8, because formula milk contains more protein, stool has obvious protein decomposition products of the odor, usually 1~2 times a day stool, some babies can be mixed with white protein clots in the stool, is a normal phenomenon.
If your baby’s stools are abnormal in nature or frequency, we recommend that you seek prompt medical attention to identify the cause of the problem with your doctor’s help, and carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
