Ciclosporin is an anti-inflammatory drug of cephalosporin class, which can have bactericidal effect on both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall. It can be used clinically to treat otitis media, bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, etc. caused by S. pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and C. catarrhalis. It can also be used to treat pyelonephritis and cystitis caused by E. coli, S. pyogenes, and gonococcus, as well as skin and skin tissue infections caused by S. aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.
