Retainer wear instructions

  1, maintenance is one of the important aspects of orthodontic treatment that affects success or failure. After the removal of orthodontic appliances, the alteration of the alveolar bone and the compliance of the maxillofacial muscles have not been completed, so at this time the teeth are in the oral environment where a variety of unstable factors work together, not maintained in the current position or not enough time to maintain will lead to relapse, each patient must wear retainers after the removal of orthodontic appliances.  2, wear retainers and time varies from person to person, generally 2 years, individuals need longer, or even lifelong retention.  3, in general patients in the first 12 months, every day and night in addition to eating, brushing teeth to wear retainers; after 6 months only wear at night; and then 6 months, every other day at night to wear once. Every 3-4 months, go to the hospital for a review until the doctor tells you that you can stop wearing it.  4.During the period of wearing retainer, you should keep the oral cavity and retainer hygiene, not paying attention to oral hygiene will cause tooth decalcification and gum inflammation such as discoloration or caries; please do not wear retainer to eat. If the retainer is damaged, lost or uncomfortable to wear, please contact with your doctor as soon as possible.  5.The retainer is a medical plastic product, please do not pinch the two ends of the arch and squeeze it inward to avoid breaking. Recommend to clean it with soft bristle toothbrush or flosser to keep it clean and transparent and beautiful. Avoid dropping and crushing. If the retainer is inadvertently damaged or lost, you will be responsible for the cost of reproducing it.  6. In order to ensure your orthodontic results, please make sure you observe the above precautions to achieve the final success of your orthodontic treatment. If you do not observe the above precautions, especially if you do not wear the retainer on your own, unfortunately causing a recurrence of malocclusion or periodontal problems, only you will be responsible for the consequences of your irresponsible behavior. If retreatment is required, you should be charged again for orthodontic treatment according to the new patient procedure.
