Starvation gastritis can be treated with gastrointestinal antispasmodics, pro-gastrointestinal stimulants, acid-suppressing drugs, gastric mucosal protective drugs.
Starvation gastritis is caused by prolonged starvation and usually presents as an ulcerative lesion, more commonly an ulcer of the duodenal bulb. Common medications used to treat starvation gastritis include:
1. gastrointestinal antispasmodics: these drugs can relax smooth muscle and relieve spasm. Commonly used drugs are atropine and scopolamine.
2. Promote gastrointestinal dynamics drugs: such as domperidone, metoclopramide, etc., can promote gastric emptying, treatment of various causes of nausea, vomiting, but also for the treatment of flatulence dyspepsia, loss of appetite, belching (burping).
3. Acid inhibitors: commonly used proton pump inhibitors (PPI) and H2 receptor antagonist drugs, can inhibit gastric acid secretion, reduce the stimulation of gastric acid on the mucosa.
PPI acid suppression effect is stronger, the efficacy of accurate is the first choice for the treatment of starvation gastritis drugs, commonly used omeprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole, etc. H2 receptor antagonist acid suppression effect is weaker than the PPI, applicable to mildly ill patients, commonly used drugs are Ranitidine, famotidine, cimetidine, etc. 4.gastric mucosal protection drugs: commonly used proton pump inhibitors (PPI) and H2 receptor antagonist drugs can inhibit gastric acid secretion, reduce gastric acid stimulation of the mucous membrane.
4. Gastric mucosal protection drugs: these drugs can form a protective film on the surface of the damaged mucosa of the stomach to isolate the erosion of harmful substances, thus favoring the healing of the damaged mucosa. Commonly used mucosal protection drugs mainly include aluminum sulfate and bismuth pectin.
The medication should be taken according to the doctor’s instructions, avoiding blind self-medication.
