There are several types of motherwort

There are 2 types of motherwort, namely, motherwort from the Lamiaceae family and motherwort with fine leaves.
Motherwort is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine with a pungent, bitter taste and slightly cold nature, and belongs to the liver, bladder and pericardium meridians. It has the effects of activating blood circulation and regulating menstruation (regulating menstruation by activating blood circulation), diuretic and subduing swelling, and clearing heat and removing toxins (removing heat and toxins from the body). It is used for treating irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea and menstrual closure, incomplete menstrual discharge, edema and urination, sores and swollen toxins.
Overdose of Motherwort may cause weakness, pain, soreness and numbness, sweating and other discomforts, so pregnant women need to be careful with Motherwort. If there is a need for medication, it should be used under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and should not be used blindly on its own to avoid adverse consequences.
