How long can you live with Crohn’s disease?

How long a patient with Crohn’s disease lives cannot be generalized and is related to the presence of serious complications or the occurrence of cancer. Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that lacks effective radical treatment and is often prolonged, with some patients in remission on their own, or with symptoms reduced after treatment. If patients have mild disease, no serious complications, and no cancer, there is usually no significant impact on life expectancy. However, if the patient develops serious complications, such as intestinal obstruction, intra-abdominal abscess, perforation and bleeding, or even cancer, it will have an impact on the patient’s life expectancy and needs to be treated actively. The length of life after complications is determined by the severity of the complications and whether effective treatment has been provided. It is advisable to maintain a good attitude after Crohn’s disease and to develop good dietary habits, and to follow medical advice for medication and regular review.
