What to do after atlantoaxial joint manipulative repositioning

Atlantoaxial joint disorders are commonly atlantoaxial subluxation, which should be followed by traction, immobilization, or surgery after manipulation.
If the atlantoaxial joint is subluxated after manipulation, pressure should be applied to the neck such as sandbags to prevent head and neck rotation; or atlantoaxial joint implant fusion should be performed to facilitate inter-atlantoaxial bony fusion.
Occipitomandibular traction can also be used after manipulative reset, with median traction, and the weight and time of traction should be judged according to the condition and the patient’s age; after manipulative reset, the head, neck and thoracic cast can be used to immobilize the head, neck and thorax, or cervical supportive traction can be carried out. If the dislocation is old, cranial traction can be used after dislocation, and then atlantoaxial fusion is recommended.
If atlantoaxial dislocation occurs, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for early and regular treatment.
