Does moxibustion work for liver cancer?

Liver cancer patients usually need to be treated by surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and moxibustion cannot achieve the effect of treating liver cancer. Liver cancer is categorized into primary liver cancer and secondary liver cancer. The etiology and exact molecular mechanism of primary liver cancer are still not completely clear, and it is generally believed that its pathogenesis is a multifactorial, multistep and complex process, which is influenced by both environmental and dietary factors. Hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus infections, alcohol, cirrhosis, and sex hormones are all associated with the development of liver cancer. Secondary liver cancer mainly occurs when malignant tumors in other parts of the body grow to a certain extent and release cancer cells into the circulatory system and eventually into the liver. Liver cancer usually requires surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy to kill the cancer cells, which cannot be killed by moxibustion alone, so patients with liver cancer cannot achieve the therapeutic effect through moxibustion. If the patient suffers from liver cancer, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, complete the relevant examination under the doctor’s guidance, clarify the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment.
