There are many types of rhinitis, such as dry rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, hypertrophic rhinitis or allergic rhinitis, which are relatively easy to distinguish. If a patient simply feels dry in the nose with crust formation, it is likely to be dry rhinitis. If the patient has a particularly dry nose with a burning sensation, a large amount of dry crust formation and often a foul odor, the patient is likely to have atrophic rhinitis. If the patient feels stuffy and has a lot of runny nose, hypertrophic rhinitis is often considered. If the patient sneezes a lot and has a constant flow of clear nasal discharge, it is likely to be allergic rhinitis. Patients had better go to the hospital to confirm the diagnosis and then further active treatment before the symptoms will improve.
