Are lung nodules with dense calcified foci serious?

High-density calcified foci of pulmonary nodules are usually not particularly serious and are mainly associated with lung infections. If it is a malignant tumor, it is more serious.
1. Lung infection: lung inflammation caused by bacteria, virus or tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis can cause calcified foci of lung nodules, which is usually caused by the formation of scar and calcium salt deposition after the healing of inflammation or injury. Bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test should be carried out in time, and appropriate antibiotics, antiviral drugs or antituberculosis drugs should be used for treatment, and the prognosis is generally good.
2. Tumor disease: benign tumor disease, such as misshapen tumor, will appear lung nodule calcification foci, the development is relatively slow, the calcification is often in the form of popcorn, the prognosis is better. Malignant diseases, such as lung cancer, are less common, but more serious, requiring timely surgical treatment and radiotherapy.
It should be noted that when the above symptoms occur, one should go to the hospital in time for examination and treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
