The use of tongue depressor

The tongue depressor is one of the most commonly used medical examination tools in pentatology. Through the use of the tongue depressor, some specific conditions of the larynx can be observed, such as vocal cord neoplasia, tonsils, uvula, etc. The method of use is to place the tongue depressor through the molars and press the tongue downward. The patient makes an ah sound and opens the mouth as wide as possible so that the throat can be seen thoroughly. The tongue depressor is for single use and cannot be reused, otherwise it may cause the risk of disease transmission.
