How to treat pressure injuries

In practice, it is not uncommon to be crushed by heavy objects, and it is best to take cold compresses locally immediately after a crush injury. Cold compresses on the one hand can play the role of analgesia, on the other hand can shrink capillaries, to reduce bleeding, reduce swelling purposes. Cold compress time is best to last until 2-3 days after the injury, and then change to hot compress or other physical therapy. If the patient feels that the degree of pressure injury is serious, it is best to go to a medical institution in a timely manner and ask a specialist to help determine whether there is damage to blood vessels, nerves and bone, and if there is damage to the above, active specialist treatment is required. If there is no such injury, but only soft tissue injury, then the patient can go home to recuperate and sleep with the affected limb elevated at night to help the swelling subside. Massage and hot compresses are not recommended in the early stage of pressure injury because they may lead to further aggravation of the swelling. After three days, local safflower oil, universal flower oil or hot water foot washing can be applied to promote local blood circulation and accelerate the decreasing of swelling.
