How to stop bleeding by compression

Compression hemostasis is the most convenient and quick way to stop bleeding in response to trauma and during surgery, which is to use external pressure to narrow or close the blood vessels at the bleeding site to slow down the blood flow and give platelets, fibrin, red blood cells and other functions to form a thrombus, thus further achieving the purpose of hemostasis. It is suitable for small wounds, but in severe cases it is not sustainable and is only an emergency measure to temporarily control bleeding. Generally, depending on the location of bleeding, such as the top of the head, face, neck, extremities, trunk, etc., you can flexibly choose acupressure, deep pressure or tourniquet binding. Compression hemostasis is divided into two types, one is direct compression method, using sterile gauze direct wound for about ten minutes after dressing. The other is the finger pressure arterial hemostasis method, first use the index finger or ring finger to find the proximal end of the wound artery, do not use the thumb because the artery in the thumb is easy to cause misjudgment, determine the point of compression and then replace the thumb or several fingers and palm to press, blocking blood flow to achieve the purpose of hemostasis.
