Knee swelling caused by walking too much is a very common clinical symptom. For older patients, most of them have already experienced wear and tear of the intra-articular structures of the knee joint, which is the early stage of osteoarthritis, and usually there is no obvious pain, but after walking too much, it will induce knee joint effusion and local formation of sterile inflammation, stimulating the inflammatory proliferation of synovial membrane in the knee joint cavity, resulting in soreness, swelling and pain. In younger patients, if swelling occurs in the knee after walking too much, it is considered acute knee synovitis caused by acute injury and wear and tear. Most of them can be treated with physical therapy, microwave physiotherapy or topical anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve symptoms.
