Vague pain one year after gallbladder removal

Patients with previous gallbladder stones and cholecystitis undergo laparoscopic cholecystectomy. If, one year after the operation, the patient develops vague pain or distension in the right upper abdomen, first of all, the patient should have a further ultrasound of the upper abdomen to see if there is inflammation or stones in the intrahepatic bile duct and common bile duct. In this case, if intrahepatic bile duct stones or common bile duct stones are present, combined with pain and jaundice in some patients. The patient should be considered for further removal of stones from the common bile duct or common hepatic duct with ERCP. For patients with intrahepatic bile duct stones, aggressive lithotripsy treatment with Eusebio can be considered first if necessary, usually for a period of 3-6 months. If the treatment is not effective and the patient has multiple stones in the liver, further choledochoscopic removal of intrahepatic bile duct stones via the hepatic duct should be considered after removal of the liver lobe. In addition, for some patients, if intrahepatic bile duct stones, common bile duct stones and duodenal ulcers are excluded, the possibility of post-choledochal syndrome is considered, which is a functional diagnosis. Patients need to actively consider taking ursodeoxycholic acid capsules for active treatment, usually pay attention to more rest, do not stay up late, do not strain, do not drink alcohol, after a period of treatment, the patient’s post gallbladder surgery syndrome will also significantly improve.
