Radial head fracture staging

There are four main types of radial head fractures: first, fractures with well aligned and aligned fracture ends and no displaced fractures. Second, fractures with significant displacement of the fracture ends and no involvement of the articular surfaces. Third, severe comminuted fractures, mostly involving the articular surface. Fourth, severe comminuted and coronal fractures of the radial head or damage to the surrounding ligaments, instability of the elbow joint or fractures of the upper third of the ulna with dislocation or fracture of the radial tuberosity. The treatment options can be determined through typing. Conservative treatment such as external fixation with plaster or brace, external fixation with plaster or internal fixation with closed reduction steel pin after manipulation, internal fixation with incision or direct removal of radial head, internal fixation with incision in relatively complicated cases, and radial head resection if necessary, can be performed.
