Explaining several questions about anal fistula

  1. What is an anal fistula? Anal fistula, also known as anal leakage, is the abbreviation of anorectal fistula. The fistula is a fistula that connects to the anal canal or rectal cavity, and is a sequel to a perianorectal abscess that has broken down. The fistula is a tube with two interchangeable sores inside and outside the human body, which can leak secretions and pus from the body to the outside, and a serious anal fistula can be seen in the fecal outflow, just like a rat stealing feces hidden inside the sore, which can harm people from time to time to steal feces, so it is imaginatively called “rat hole”. 2, how do I know I have an anal fistula? (1) There is a history of perianal abscess, and the external mouth of the tube has the characteristic of repeatedly breaking down and flowing pus, with intermittent swelling and pain. (2) Pus overflow from the external opening: pus is thin, more or less, intermittent, or exhausted, or with fecal outflow. In the acute inflammatory stage, there is more pus overflow, and the pus is thick and foul-smelling, accompanied by fever. (3) perianal itching; due to pus stimulation, local dampness and itching, eczema-like changes can be seen. (4) poor defecation; see complex anal fistula, anal canal fibrosis stenosis. 3.What should I do if I have an anal fistula? If the above symptoms appear, please consult a specialist immediately. Once a fistula is formed, there is little chance of self-healing. 4.Why do I have a fistula? The anal gland becomes infected with pus and expands into a perianal abscess, and the fistula remains after the abscess is cut or drained. The reason for this is that dry stools can easily bruise the anal sinuses, and then bacteria invade and infect them. Most people with diarrhea have the presence of proctitis and sinusitis, which can lead to further inflammation. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who have a lot of bad dietary habits, such as spicy and greasy food, and are prone to anal fistula. For the long-standing anal fistula is mostly deficiency evidence, the diet contains more protein foods, such as lean meat, beef, mushrooms, etc. (2) timely treatment of anal sinusitis, anal papillitis: to avoid perianal rectal abscess and anal fistula. (3) Prevention and control of constipation and diarrhea: important for the prevention of anal fistula. (4) Develop good defecation habits: daily sitz bath after defecation to keep the anus clean, which has a positive effect on the prevention of infection.
