Tomatoes are just a food and should not be used as a medicine. Regular consumption of tomatoes does not function to prevent diseases. Tomatoes contain a large amount of vitamin C, which can assist in improving various symptoms caused by vitamin C deficiency, mouth ulcers, blood oozing from the gums, etc. However, food only plays a supplementary role and needs to be combined with medication to do so. Tomatoes are good but not recommended to be consumed in large quantities on an empty stomach as they can cause abdominal pain and acid reflux and other symptoms. It is not advisable to eat unripe green tomatoes, which may cause symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, peripheral discomfort, vomiting and general fatigue, which can be life-threatening in serious cases.
