Possible causes of left lower abdominal pain in children

There are two main causes of left lower abdominal pain in children: 1. Caused by acute pancreatitis, children with very severe left lower abdominal pain and a history of overeating can have their blood amylase tested. If the amylase value is elevated significantly, it may be suffering from acute pancreatitis. If the child has not had a bowel movement for a long time or has dry stools, the stool will accumulate in the child’s intestines and cause pain in the lower left abdomen. If the child is palpated on the abdomen, a stool-like object will be felt in the lower left abdomen. In this case, the child can be treated by applying a cork or probiotic for defecation.
