What is the normal value of the heart rate of newborns

The normal heart rate for most full-term healthy newborns is 100-150 beats per minute. If a newborn’s heart rate fluctuates within this range, it is normal. If the heart rate deviates significantly from the normal range, it is mostly due to an abnormal disease. If the newborn’s heart rate is significantly faster, it is mostly due to lack of oxygen or fever, in which case the newborn needs to be given oxygen and treated for fever in a timely manner. If the fever is due to a bacterial infection, cephalosporins should be administered to the newborn. If the newborn’s heart rate is significantly low, it is mostly due to postnatal asphyxia. If the heart rate is significantly low, below 60 beats per minute, the newborn should be treated with prompt chest compressions and epinephrine.
