Precautions for patients with rheumatic heart disease

  1. Pay attention to rest, combine work and rest, and avoid excessive physical activity. However, when heart function allows, moderate light physical activity or light physical work can be performed.  2.Prevent colds, tonsils, gingivitis, etc. If infection occurs, penicillin treatment can be used, and erythromycin or lincomycin treatment can be used for those who are allergic to penicillin.   3.People with cardiac insufficiency should control the intake of water and limit the sodium salt in the diet moderately, less than 10 grams per day is appropriate, do not eat salt cured products.  4, those taking diuretics should eat some fruit.  5, patients with atrial fibrillation should not do strenuous exercise. Regular medical consultations should be made, and surgical treatment should be considered at an appropriate period.  6.If tooth extraction or other minor surgery is needed, antibiotics should be used to prevent infection before surgery.
