What’s that ear ringing when you clench your teeth?

Ear ringing from teeth clenching may be related to cerumen, temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome, and so on. If the patient has cerumen in the ear canal, when the patient is chewing, due to muscle pulling and other stimuli, the cerumen shakes in the ear canal, causing the eardrum to vibrate and make a sound. If the patient stops chewing, the sound will disappear, sometimes when the patient shakes his/her head this sound will be made. There is also a possibility that the patient suffers from temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome, which shows that the temporomandibular joint pops during movement. This is why when clenching teeth, especially when eating hard objects, there is a joint rubbing sound that causes a murmur in the ears. There are other causes of ringing in the ears when clenching teeth, so it is recommended to consult a doctor and follow the doctor’s instructions to have a relevant examination, to clarify the cause with the help of the doctor, and to carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
