How to check luteal function

Luteal function can be checked by basal body temperature measurement, blood test for progesterone, ultrasound for ovulation monitoring and endometrial biopsy.
1. Basal body temperature measurement: women wake up naturally in the morning, measure the basal body temperature immediately after waking up without any activity, measure continuously for one menstrual cycle, the basal body temperature rises after ovulation, if it is less than 0.3 ℃, the duration of high temperature phase is <11 days, it is considered that the luteal body is not functioning properly. 2. Blood test for progesterone: Progesterone reaches its peak one week after ovulation, and the blood progesterone level can be measured on the 5th to 9th day before the next menstrual period, and the value <10ng/ml may be luteal insufficiency. 3. Ultrasound monitoring of ovulation: the time from ovulation to the onset of menstruation should be about 14 days, through ultrasound monitoring of ovulation, the time from ovulation to the onset of menstruation is less than 12 days, it is considered that the luteal function is insufficient. 4. Endometrial biopsy: endometrial biopsy done 1 to 3 days before or 12 hours after the onset of menstruation can find out whether the luteal function is normal. Women are advised to go to regular hospitals to find out if the luteal function is normal.
