What stage of stomach cancer is it?

Majority resection of gastric cancer is a kind of surgical method, while the stage of gastric cancer is related to the depth of tumor infiltration, lymph nodes and metastasis to distant organs, and one cannot judge how many stages the tumor belongs to by majority resection of gastric cancer. Majority resection for gastric cancer generally refers to removing the distal 2/3~3/4 gastric tissues and including the pylorus and part of duodenal bulb on the proximal side of the stomach. After surgery, patients may have complications such as gastroparesis, ischemic necrosis of gastrointestinal wall, alkaline reflux gastritis and residual gastric cancer. Staging of gastric cancer is mainly determined by the depth of tumor infiltration, lymph nodes and distant metastasis, and the accurate pathological staging is usually only available after surgery, which is closely related to the choice of subsequent treatment and prognosis of patients. Therefore, most of the gastric cancer resection cannot determine the tumor staging, and the accurate tumor staging will be reflected in the postoperative pathological report. When discomfort or complication occurs after major resection of gastric cancer, patients should go to the hospital in time for consultation and active treatment.
