What types of auricular trauma are there?

The auricle is exposed on both sides of the skull and is susceptible to direct mechanical trauma. Trauma to the auricle can be divided into contusions, lacerations and cuts. Stun bruises are mainly caused by various blunt impacts or extrusion, such as fist hitting the ear or ear hitting hard objects, which can cause skin abrasions, soft tissue swelling, subcutaneous tissue or cartilage membrane bleeding, forming auricular hematoma. Lacerations are caused by violent pulling, which can lead to irregular skin lacerations, cartilage exposure or even cartilage fracture, or partial loss or breakage of the auricular tissue, or even complete breakage. Cutting injuries are mainly caused by sharp instruments with neat edges. In mild cases, the skin and cartilage may be partially severed, while in severe cases, part or the entire auricle may be cut off and the cartilage may be exposed.
