White radish has the effects of eliminating stagnation, resolving phlegm and heat, lowering qi, relaxing the middle and detoxifying the body. White radish is pungent, sweet and cool in nature, and enters the lung and stomach meridians. It can be used to treat food stagnation (accumulation of food in the stomach due to indigestion) and flatulence, phlegm and coughing with loss of voice, vomiting of blood, epistaxis (hemorrhage), thirst, dysentery, and migraine headache. For internal use, it can be eaten raw, decocted or boiled. Externally, it can be taken in appropriate quantity, pounded on the skin, pressed on the nose, and washed with decoction of water. It should be noted that if the patient is allergic to white radish, it should not be consumed to prevent allergic symptoms. Caution should be exercised if the spleen and stomach are cold.
