When should I treat my baby for harness syndrome?

In the case of girdle syndrome, we need to choose the timing of surgery based on the blood flow. If the girdle is so tightly wrapped that it affects the blood flow disorder of the finger or limb, resulting in swelling and purple color of the finger, we need to treat it as early as possible. A while ago, we operated on a baby less than three months old who had a very tight band around the middle of the calf of the right lower limb, and the blood return to the whole lower limb was affected, so we have to treat this situation early because if it is not treated, it may lead to ischemia and necrosis of the limb muscles, or even a larger impairment of the blood supply to the limb. If it is only a mild strangulation of the distal finger, or a mild adhesion of the finger caused by the girdle, we can operate a little later, when the baby is about half a year old. Of course we also have to consider the baby’s physical condition and whether the weight is up to standard.
