The back of the head is a very important part of the body and may have serious consequences. When your baby falls on the back of the head, don’t be anxious. First, observe your baby closely to see if there is a hematoma on the scalp, if there is a depression in the skull, and if the speech, movement and mental status are normal. If they are all normal, occasionally you may have to wake the baby up for observation while he or she is sleeping to see if you can wake him or her up. If the baby has abnormalities such as vomiting, impaired body movement or depression, go to the hospital for examination in a timely manner. If the head CT indicates no soft tissue swelling, no obvious abnormalities in the skull, no fractures and no intracranial bleeding, no treatment is needed for the time being, just observe at home. 72 hours later, re-examine the CT, if there are no abnormalities again, there is probably no problem. If the cranial CT indicates a fracture or soft tissue swelling of the scalp or intracranial hemorrhage, the patient should be hospitalized for close observation, given appropriate medication, and if necessary, CT or cranial MRI should be rechecked.
