How to treat lumbar spine bulge

Lumbar spine bulge is generally known as bulging lumbar disc herniation in clinic, and common treatments include general treatment, medication and surgery.
1. General treatment: patients are advised to take bed rest and reduce activities. Patients with younger age, first attack or acute attack can use pelvic traction to increase the rupture gap of the intervertebral disc, reduce the pressure on the intervertebral disc and the compression on the nerve root, and improve the local circulation and edema. Continuous pelvic traction is often used, and the foot of the bed is elevated to do counter traction.
2. Medication: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are often used, including acetaminophen, diclofenac, indomethacin, ibuprofen, and lasoprofen sodium.
3. Surgical treatment
(1) Spinal endoscopic nucleus pulposus removal: In case of partial or complete prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, the herniated part of the disc can be removed under the endoscopic channel through spinal endoscopy. It is suitable for young people with simple intervertebral disc herniation.
(2) Simple interlaminar open nucleus pulposus removal: Suitable for patients with simple lumbar disc herniation. The ligamentum flavum is removed and the herniated disc is exposed and removed through the intervertebral plate space.
When suffering from bulging lumbar disc herniation, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time and actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment. The above medications need to be used as prescribed by the doctor.
