Craniosynostosis is characterized by depression of the skull base, shallow orbits, protruding eyes, and hypoplasia of the paranasal sinuses. The prevention and treatment of paranasal sinus hypoplasia are as follows: 1. The timing of surgery is more appropriate within 1/2 to 1 year after birth. 2, surgical methods (1) cranial suture reconstruction, there are the following: ① sagittal suture reconstruction: take the midline incision, make a 1.5cm wide longitudinal bone groove on both sides of the sagittal suture at 2cm from the midline, and remove the periosteum 2cm from the bone edge. (ii) Coronal suture reconstruction: A coronal incision is made in front of the ear and the closed coronal suture is excised, and the procedure is the same as before. (3) Total cranial suture reconstruction: In the first stage, a coronal incision is made in front of the ear, a bone groove is made along the coronal suture, and the anterior half of the sagittal suture is occluded, supplemented by subtemporal muscle decompression. 3 to 4 weeks later, the second stage is performed, a coronal incision is made in the posterior part of the apex, a bone groove is made along both sides of the herringbone suture, and the posterior half of the sagittal suture is excised, and the method is the same as before. (2) Craniotomy: By surgically cutting the skull extensively without cutting along the original closed cranial suture, the effect is better for those with premature closure of the whole cranial suture, and the surgery on both sides is completed in stages.
