Can American ginseng in water cure rhinitis?

American ginseng in water cannot treat rhinitis, and the efficacy of the drug in water is limited, not an alternative treatment.
Rhinitis is a western medical concept, but in Chinese medicine, it is mostly considered as “congested nose”, which is caused by cold lung qi, weak spleen qi (spleen qi weakness), insufficient kidney yang, and heat in the lung meridian, and often manifests itself as sudden onset or recurring nasal itching, sneezing, snotting, congestion, and other symptoms.
Ginseng is sweet, slightly bitter and cool in nature. It belongs to the heart, lung and kidney meridians, and has the effects of tonifying qi and nourishing yin, clearing heat and promoting generation of body fluid. It is used clinically for the treatment of body heatiness caused by deficiency of qi and yin, vexation and fatigue, coughing and wheezing, blood in sputum, internal heat and thirst (internal heat accompanied by symptoms such as eating more, drinking more and urinating more) as well as dryness of mouth and throat, etc. It is not suitable for use with veratrum. It should not be used together with quassia.
American ginseng is often used in the treatment of qi deficiency and yin deficiency, but congested nose is not caused by qi deficiency and yin deficiency, so American ginseng in water cannot treat congested nose and it is recommended that patients who need it should consult a doctor in time and take medication under the doctor’s guidance.
