There is no clear evidence that sun exposure can cure myopia. Myopia refers to the refractive state in which parallel rays of light pass through the refractive system of the eye and fall in front of the retina when the eye is relaxed. According to the refractive component, myopia is categorized into refractive myopia (excessive curvature of the cornea or lens) and axial myopia (the length of the eye’s axis exceeds the normal range). Currently, myopia is not reversible, and no studies have found that sun exposure is a cure for myopia. There is no reliable evidence that sun exposure can directly or indirectly restore the refractive system of the eye that has been pathologically altered, therefore, sun exposure has not been found to have a therapeutic effect on myopia. It is recommended that myopia patients should consult a doctor in time to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s advice to choose the appropriate treatment.
