Can Hepatitis B cause hair loss?

People with hepatitis B may experience hair loss, but usually hepatitis B itself does not cause hair loss.

Hepatitis B is a disease caused by the hepatitis B virus that attacks the liver. Hepatitis B disease itself does not cause the symptoms of hair loss, but patients with hepatitis B may experience hair loss after the disease due to a variety of factors, such as taking antiviral medications such as interferon; and endocrine disruption due to the unusual damage that hepatitis B causes to mental health, which may cause hair loss.

As the onset of hepatitis B can lead to certain damage to the functional health of the liver, patients who do not receive timely treatment, further development and deterioration of the condition may also cause cirrhosis of the liver, liver cancer and other serious complications that can jeopardize the safety of an individual’s life.

Once an individual is diagnosed with hepatitis B, he or she should consult a hospital in time and receive treatment as soon as possible.
