There are many types of probiotics, including Lactobacillus species, Bifidobacterium species, other Gram-positive bacteria and yeast species. Their role and function is mainly to regulate intestinal flora and maintain flora balance.

The efficacy and role of probiotics are mainly reflected in the regulation of intestinal flora to maintain intestinal balance; inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria; and at the same time can protect the integrity of the intestinal mucosal barrier, inhibit intestinal inflammation; promote digestion and absorption.
Although the use of probiotics is beneficial to human health, healthy people do not need to use probiotics routinely to avoid the side effects brought about by blind use of probiotics.
