What is chemotherapy? Why do I need chemotherapy?

Chemotherapy is the use of chemical drugs to stop the proliferation, infiltration and metastasis of cancer cells. Since chemotherapy drugs are not very selective and have a certain degree of toxicity to cells, it is inevitable that while killing cancer cells, it will also damage the normal cells of the body, thus causing adverse reactions to the drugs. It can affect the normal intake of food: anorexia, vomiting, mouth ulcers, diarrhea, constipation. These manifestations are variable and unsystematic from one treatment to the next, and are frequent and short-term in nature. These side effects depend on the type and dosage of the drug taken, on the association with other drugs, on the reaction of each individual and on the state of health.
