Hepatitis B e antibody is positive indicating that the human body has been infected with the hepatitis B virus in the past, and there may be a small amount of replication of the hepatitis B virus in the body at present, which is contagious, or there is no replication of the virus, which is not contagious.
Hepatitis B e antibody is one of the five clinical tests for hepatitis B. When hepatitis B e antibody is positive, it can be categorized into two situations:
1. When hepatitis B e antibody is positive and hepatitis B surface antibody is negative, it means that there may be hepatitis B virus replication in the human body, and then it is necessary to check the quantitative test of hepatitis B virus DNA. When the quantitative test of hepatitis B virus DNA is negative, it means that the replication of hepatitis B virus is inactive in the human body; when the result is positive, it is considered that there is still virus replication in the human body, and there is a certain degree of contagiousness.
2. When hepatitis B e antibody is positive and hepatitis B surface antibody is positive, it means that hepatitis B virus has been eliminated from the body and protective antibody against hepatitis B virus has been produced.
When there are doubts after screening for hepatitis B, you can consult a professional physician.
