Liver enzymes refer to aminotransferases, which can be categorized as alanine aminotransferase (AAT) and aliquot aminotransferase (AAT). Elevated AAT may be associated with cirrhosis of the liver or other illnesses, and symptoms may vary depending on the illness. Usually, the normal value of ALT is 0-40 u/L, while the normal value of AST is 0-37 u/L. Elevated AST may be caused by hepatitis drug toxicity obstructive jaundice, cholangitis, cholangioma, cirrhosis and other diseases, while elevated AST is mostly associated with early myocardial infarction, various liver diseases, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatocellular necrosis and degeneration, and so on. In liver disease-related elevated liver enzymes, patients may have symptoms such as abdominal pain, jaundice, etc. Some patients may also show circulatory disorders, ascites, and splenomegaly. At the same time, some patients may also be accompanied by wasting and loss of appetite. If the elevation of liver enzymes is caused by heart-related diseases, it can be manifested as discomfort or pain in the precordial region. It is recommended that patients with high aminotransferases should consult a doctor for further examination to clarify their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for active treatment.
