What to do if you have polyps on your nails

Polyps in the groin usually require surgical treatment and, if necessary, nail extraction. Polyps are mainly due to recurrent episodes of onychomycosis, resulting in scarring of the tissues next to the nail groove. Inflammation of the nail groove or trimming the nails too deep, resulting in localized skin breakage, secondary bacterial infection, most of the infecting bacteria are Staphylococcus aureus, and in severe cases, can form a nail groove abscess. Repeated episodes of inguinitis can lead to localized tissue scarring, resulting in the formation of scarring polyps. For the formation of scarring polyps from onychomycosis, the hyperplastic scar tissue next to the nail groove needs to be removed. Some of the scarring becomes trapped in the nail groove and requires a concurrent nail extraction treatment to achieve healing. Polyps in the paronychia or onychia need to be treated surgically by removing the excess scarring and performing nail removal at the same time in order to achieve a cure.
