What’s with the purple blood around the ankles?

Purple blood at ankles can be caused by vitamin C deficiency, varicose veins and ankle sprains.
1. Vitamin C deficiency: If the patient suffers from vitamin C deficiency, the permeability of capillaries will be increased, which will easily cause the blood to leak out of the blood vessels to the outside of the blood vessels, thus causing purple blood at the ankles.
2. Varicose veins: The decreased elasticity of the blood vessel wall and valvular insufficiency can cause obstruction of blood reflux and elevated venous pressure in the lower limbs, resulting in capillary dilatation in the ankle joints. The capillaries are mostly venous blood, which is dark red, when the capillaries are dilated, it can cause the decrease of blood oxygen saturation, which will cause purple blood at the ankle.
3. Ankle sprains: Because sprains of the ligaments surrounding the ankle joint can be accompanied by damage to the capillaries around the ligaments, when the capillaries are ruptured, it can cause the blood to leak out of the blood vessels to the outside of the blood vessels, which can cause purple blood at the ankles.
If the patient has purple blood at the ankle, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, identify the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment.
