Herpes zoster, also known as herpes zoster, is an acute inflammatory skin disease caused by the varicella zoster virus, commonly known as “spider sores” and “snake sores”. The main feature is a cluster of blisters, distributed in clusters along one side of the peripheral nerve, accompanied by significant pain. The first infection is chickenpox, but later the virus can be latent in the posterior root ganglion of the spinal cord for a long time, and weakened immune function can induce the virus to become active again and spread along the peripheral nerve to the skin, resulting in herpes zoster. In Chinese medicine, this disease is due to internal injury of emotion, liver qi stagnation, and long-standing fire, the accumulation of fire and toxin in the liver meridian, and the wind evil up the head and face; or damp evil down the injection in the yin and lower extremities; fire and toxin incandescence more often in the trunk.
