The 3-year-old child had frequent sore throat and neck pain, and was diagnosed with tonsillitis and lymphadenitis at the local hospital, and recently had recurrent neck lymph node swelling and pain for more than 20 days. Diagnosis: chronic tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, submandibular lymphadenitis, anti-inflammatory and symptomatic treatment, blood leukocytes 6000, normal sedimentation, high anti-“O”, cervical lymph node enlargement reduced, tonsils considered as potential foci, tonsil adenoidectomy was performed under general anesthesia, 6 hours after surgery, the child Six hours after the operation, the child ate soft food, the swollen cervical lymph nodes disappeared, and the child’s activities were not abnormal. It is suggested that recurrent cervical lymph node swelling in young children may be related to tonsillar enlargement, and tonsillectomy is feasible if necessary.
