How to treat encephalopathy

Encephalopathies are divided into various diseases, and different diseases are treated differently. Common encephalopathies include cerebrovascular diseases, brain tumors, and brain degenerative diseases. Some of them are secondary to other diseases, such as hepatic encephalopathy, hypertensive encephalopathy, etc. Treatment for cerebrovascular diseases is etiological treatment, such as controlling bleeding and infarction, reducing complications and sequelae, and preventing recurrence. Brain tumors are mainly treated surgically to remove the occupying tumor. Brain degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s are treated symptomatically to slow down the progression of the disease, relieve symptoms such as limb tremors, and improve the quality of life. For secondary encephalopathies such as hepatic encephalopathy and hypertensive encephalopathy, the symptoms of encephalopathy can be gradually relieved by removing the triggering factors and treating the primary disease, such as improving liver function to lower blood ammonia and controlling blood pressure.
