At present, there is no clear authoritative data to show that children eating Poria will not grow taller, so it can usually be assumed that Poria does not cause children to grow taller. Poria is calm in nature, not only can strengthen the spleen and calm the heart, but also can promote water seepage and dampness (to promote the flow of water to get rid of dampness), often used to improve edema and urinary deficiency, spleen deficiency with little food, mental and spiritual restlessness, loose stools (feces sparse and unshaped) and diarrhea and other diseases. At present, we have not found that children who consume Poria have the phenomenon of not growing taller, and there is no authoritative information to show that Poria and children do not grow taller have an inevitable relationship. Poria is widely used in clinical practice, such as Wu Ling San, Ling Gui Jiu Gan Tang, Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San, Ling Gui Cough and Asthma Capsules, Pediatric Diarrhea Relief Granules, etc. Poria is not suitable to be used together with Ampelopsis, Di Yu, Xiong Huang, Gentiana Macrophyllae, Gouma, and other traditional Chinese medicines. Poria should be used with caution in cases of qi deficiency, yin deficiency without dampness-heat, and deficiency cold and essence slippage. Poria’s adverse reactions are not clear, the use of medication should follow the doctor’s instructions, children who do not grow taller need to go to the regular hospital in time to find the cause of the problem, not self-medication.
