Complications of lupus erythematosus mainly include pericarditis, interstitial lung lesions, lupus encephalopathy and so on. 1. Pericarditis: Pericarditis is the most common cardiac damage in SLE, manifested as pericardial effusion, but pericardial tamponade is rare. There may be myocarditis, arrhythmia, and severe SLE may be accompanied by cardiac insufficiency, suggesting a poor prognosis. 2. Interstitial lung lesions: interstitial lung lesions caused by SLE are mainly acute and subacute interstitial glassy changes and chronic interstitial fibrosis, which are manifested by shortness of breath after activity, dry cough, hypoxemia, and lung function tests often show decreased diffusion function. 3. Lupus encephalopathy: in mild cases, there are only migraine, personality change, memory loss or mild cognitive impairment; in severe cases, it can be manifested as cerebrovascular accident, coma, epileptic status. Lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease mediated by autoimmunity with multi-system involvement, which can have multiple complications. Once diagnosed with lupus erythematosus, it is recommended that patients go to the hospital in time to assess their condition and standardize the treatment under the guidance of a doctor to avoid delays.
